In January 2026, Kianga Ellis Projects announced an intention to give away the Catskills mountain project house to artists and local residents as part of an experimental new model of collective ownership made possible by blockchain technology.
It will take some time - years most likely - before our laws and regulations, technology and markets are actually ready for us to implement a workable model of egalitarian tokenization and distribution of ownership.
While we wait, the community building and historic restoration proceeds. Mud Lake Meeting House will operate as a community “third space” for gathering, exhibitions, retreat and more.
By acting together from inception we ensure that any experimental ownership and stewardship model emerges with credibility and legitimacy.
